We want to be the leading creator of delightful experiences for everybody involved in buying, selling, renting and letting property, regardless of their involvement, to improve the industry for everybody by elevating UK Estate Agencies through world-class technology.

Our Data Applications team is at the forefront of driving innovation through data, machine learning, and software engineering. They're a small but mighty team powering our core products, Spectre and Street. Joining our team means taking on significant, high-impact projects that shape the future of the PropTech industry!

As a Data Engineer, you'll work end-to-end on diverse and challenging data projects that impact our entire product suite. From building and maintaining our UK property data API (Kraken) to supporting AI-powered features, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data-driven innovation is at the heart of everything we do.
You’ll play a key role in the design, architecture, testing, and deployment of our systems, all within a collaborative and fast-paced team environment.

If you love autonomy, are naturally curious, and want to have a genuine impact within a growing company, we think you’d fit right in!

A bit about the job.

  • Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python (Apache Beam) and FastAPI for our data-driven applications.
  • Work closely with stakeholders, product managers, and other teams to prioritise and deliver high-impact features.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure (primarily GCP, with some AWS exposure), using tools like Kubernetes, Docker, BigQuery, and PubSub.
  • Tackle data challenges, such as handling and integrating new data sets, to ensure smooth operation and innovation.
  • Participate in daily standups, bi-weekly sprint planning, and team retrospectives.
  • Ensure smooth operation of data services through continuous deployment, testing, and automation using CircleCI, Terraform, and ArgoCD.

A bit about you.

  • You have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Python-focused data engineering.
  • You have experience working with cloud platforms, especially GCP (AWS experience is a plus).
  • Knowledge of containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes preferred).
  • You’ll have familiarity with CI/CD processes and infrastructure as code.
  • You’re self-motivated, proactive, and able to work autonomously in a remote setup.
  • You possess excellent communication skills with a collaborative mindset.

Research has shown that women tend to rule themselves out of applying for jobs unless they meet 100% of the requirements. If you fall into that category and were about to rule yourself out based on the above criteria; please consider applying anyway. We'd love to see your application!
